Wordpress vs. Blogger, what would you prefer?
I remembered 2 years ago when I just started blogging. I just realized that writing a blog does not only mean online journals or online diaries, but it can also be an instrument for SEO and making money online.
I started blogging using wordpress.com and blogger, and as time goes by, I learned how to create money from those blogs.
I also learned how to use blogs can be used for 3 way linking, especially on adult sites.
I started working on blogs using wordpress.org in mid-2007. I also learned how to install Wordpress in mid-2008. And right now, I choose wordpress rather than blogger because:
- Blogs in Blogger are very hard to configure because it uses special tags that only Blogger can understand, but Wordpress is easier to edit, because it can only require knowledge in PHP and HTML.
- Blogger’s CSS cannot be externalized.
- Wordpress posts can have meta tags for each post using All in one SEO plugin.
- Wordpress is more corporate than Blogger.

How to increase my visitors for my site?
As I have researched the different theories on what are the possible reasons on why my site does not get higher traffic, I came up with these theories:
- My site’s loading speed is too slow
- Depends on the seasonality (for hotel, vacation, lodging, and resort websites)
- Usability problem
- Site contains useless content (under construction, welcome, or just a plain text)
- The site is seen as a spam site
- The keyword optimized does not have searchers
- The keyword for a certain location has a low searchers/trend
- The site does not load very well (usually contains errors)
Therefore, to be able to increase the traffic of my site, I need to do the following:
- Check the latest keyword trends using Google Trends.
- Check the estimated searchers of a certain keyword using Trellian, Adwords Traffic Estimator, Wordtracker, Digitalpoint, etc.
- Socialize, Communicate, and be public
- Check for errors using dead-links.com
- Add fresh content from time-to-time
- Avoid overoptimization/oversubmission
- Build links using your targeted keywords as an anchor text
… for additional strategies, just drop a comment, thanks!
